just said foo.so) and tried to start kopete again, i did not restart kde
but as a workaround it's okay for me

with kmail solved the problem for me.

A workaround for this is to enable kubuntu-experimental repository for
*intrepid*, then upgrade to get up-to-date packages. It worked for me.

I think that somehow the process of uploading KDE packages should be changed.
No package should be available
until everything has been uploaded. Else every KDE update means a broken system
for a while.

As noted in a previous comment this is caused by an incomplete upgrade.
This is normal for a development release where the archive is a state of
rapid change. There isn't really anyway of blocking the release until
all packages are ready without freezing the repository which is
