I just tested the kernel amd64, took 6 minutes for my pc to boot and no network once it was. dhclient eth0 didn't work. a lot more r8169: eth0: link up lines were adding up. The hardware used for the test was: 01:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.

Hi Phill, I'd agree that this bug and bug 313081 are likely duplicates. Rule of thumb is usually use the most descriptive bug with debug information as the master bug. Regardless, I'll escalate this to the Ubuntu kernel team and work getting the duplicates cleaned up so they only have one bug
