I have the same problem, it crashes when the font_face->str contains any
Chineses character.

gconftool-2 --get /desktop/gnome/interface/font_name
gives "微軟正黑體 10"
which means "MS JhengHei 10", a Chinese font from MS and I am using
Chinese (Traditional) language in GNOME.
