Public bug reported: Look at the man page for pylint, specifically the environmental variables option, which reads as follows.
ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES The following environment variables are used : * PYLINTHOME path to the directory where data of persistent run will be stored. If not found, it defaults to ~/.pylint.d/ or .pylint.d (in the current working directory) . The current PYLINTHOME is /home/syt/.pylint.d. * PYLINTRC path to the configuration file. If not found, it will use the first existant file in ~/.pylintrc, /etc/pylintrc. The current PYLINTRC is None. It refers to the PYLINTHOME as /home/syt/.pylint.d, which is not a directory on my computer. I assume it's the authors home directory. If the man page can't figure out the PYLINTHOME directory, then it shouldn't include that sentance in the man page $ dpkg -l | grep pylint ii pylint 0.14.0-2.1 python code static checker ** Affects: pylint (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- pylint man page refers to "The current PYLINTHOME is /home/syt/.pylint.d" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/340411 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
