Confirmed (sort of). Looks like gdm 2.14.10 fixed my suspend problem (see https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gdm/+bug/50703) I don't normally hibernate, but when I tried it (from the login options menu) I get the authentication failed message as mentioned above. The hibernation part of the bug is still an issue with edgy, tested on a whitebox laptop. I'm not sure if the suspend issue I see is this or another problem. I have HP omnibook 500 laptop. Hibernate Ubuntu 6.06 does not function in most cases (but sometimes).
