I have same problem.
I use Ubuntu Netbook Edition.
My system it is Asus Eee PC 1015PED.
In Windows 7 Starter cursor works fine.
Can you help me?

Cursor problem
I've found a simple fix for this in Karmic Ubuntu 9.10 - Touchfreeze is
in the Synaptic Package Manager. Once installed, it allows you to switch
the touchpad on and off while typing - and if you're using a mouse,
there's then no problems either ...
