I have run into this bug as well. I believe it comes from installing
the web version first, then later upgrading to the jaunty packaged
version for me. All I know is that the upgrade did not pull in the
package openoffice-java-common for me either. I have a Jaunty system
fully uptodate.

Confirming a bug without giving any additional detail on how to
reproduce the issue when even the original submitter can't reproduce the
bug when booted off the CD isn't particularly useful.

Just booted the lastest 9.04 daily live-CD, and it works just fine
there, so I guess it is something with my system. Strange, because I
tried deleting .openoffice.org and run OOo as another user, but still I
don't get the message.

I can't reproduce this issue on a stock clean installed 9.04 it tells
the user to install openoffice.org-java-common just like on Ubuntu 8.10.
