Hello Valentine. Please explain me something. Otherwise my Linux wont start if i attach lan card without installing drivers first, will stuck at boot screen. That means that the driver isn't present in the Linux kernel. First I install wireless drivers from windows wireless drivers utility, and then i plugin my PCI LAN card. That means that you have installed the driver, when you are running Ubuntu, from a Linux compatible source. But what is this source ? Is not possible to install a driver in Windows XP and have it functioning under Ubuntu, they are two independents operating systems. Have you installed the driver for Windows XP, when running Ubuntu, taking it from the CD using a tool like ndiswrapper? Or simply you are running Ubuntu, insert the CD and start the application that install the driver ? (that means that the CD are Linux compatible) ? I install from LAN card manufacturer CD drivers with Windows Wireless drivers utility in my Ubuntu(Windows wireless drivers utility locates some sort of .inf file). Then I shut down PC and attach LAN card, and then I start my Ubuntu. Yes bug still exists in Ubuntu xubuntu 10.04 linux mint 9 gnome/xfce First I install wireless drivers from windows wireless drivers utility, and then i plugin my PCI LAN card.
