[Bug 369050] Re: Could not register with SIP server on same machine

2012-12-18 Thread Eugen Dedu
There was a problem where the port specification was not taken into
account by ekiga. Please retry with ekiga 4.0.0 and tell if the bug is
still there.

[Bug 369050] Re: Could not register with SIP server on same machine

2010-10-18 Thread exodus
I can second this behavior.

I use an Asus G51JX laptop to run Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64 bit version.

I have downloaded Freeswitch 1.0.6 source and compiled it on my machine.
Freeswitch listens on 5060. Ekiga has been installed from the repository
and Ekiga's default listen port was changed from 5060 to 5070 using
gconf-editor.

Both are on the same machine and the ip address of the machine is
192.168.0.107.

When I specify 127.0.0.1 or 192.168.0.107 while registering with FS,
Ekiga fails to connect. I get the message Could not register (Loop
detected).

However in the same setup, if I change the ip address to the public ip
of the machine, then Ekiga registers with FS just fine. I hope that
helps or gives you an idea of where the problem is.

[Bug 369050] Re: Could not register with SIP server on same machine

2010-01-03 Thread dreamon
I have installed Ekiga today and can confirm this behaviour. I'm new to
Ubuntu and Ekiga, but I would love to switch to an open source Skype
alternative. If you can give me a few hints on how to retrieve the
information you need, I'd be happy to help.

Cheers.

Hi,

Could you try to disable STUN support?

Best regards,

[Bug 369050] Re: Could not register with SIP server on same machine

2009-04-29 Thread EngChongMeng
Using Configuration Editor:

STUN is already disabled by default (or already set to disabled) when I
checked this morning. But very strange, after I changed the STUN server
to localhost. The Ekiga is now working and able to register with the SIP
server. After this, I can set STUN to Enable or Disabled or change the
STUN server location to anything, and the Ekiga remains working.

So the Ekiga is now working, but actual solution not know. Will try the
'solution' on another SIP server setup on a second system and see if the
solution can be repeated (Previously it was also not working).

FYI: The SIP server setup is actually within the same intranet network.
So the firewall NAT does not come into play in this case.

Many thanks for your advice.

[Bug 369050] Re: Could not register with SIP server on same machine

2009-04-29 Thread EngChongMeng
I have tried on a second system with Opensips installed. Previously also
have the same problem that the Ekiga is unable to register with SIP
server.

However when I again try out this morning, magically the Ekiga is able
to register with the Opensips SIP server without any setting changed
(previously it was not working).

A bit of history:
The two systems I was testing with are N270 netbook, and Presario B1807. These
two systems were previously installed with Ubuntu 9.04 beta. Under these cases,
the reported Ekiga registration problem persist (even after numerous software
upgrade).

Recently I have completely reinstalled both systems with the official
released Ubuntu 9.04 (Presio B1807 on Aprl 23 and N270 Netbook on Apr
29). After installation and performing the very first software upate. I
installed Opensips and Ekiga to try out. Both systems found to have the
reported Ekiga registration problem.

After the tests failed, I believed I have again performed few software
update (update manager). I believe this has actaully help to resolve the
Ekiga unable to registration problem i.e. new official ubuntu release
installation and the latest software upgrade.

Thanks for everything.
