I am having a very similar problem:
1) I receive an error message before the login window pops up saying
that the file /usr/share/gdm/themes/Human/bottom_bar.svg cannot be
opened due to the file type being unrecognized and
2) When I go to the top menu and select Places Computer, I get
Skype 2 for Linux also throws up this error.

I was not having any problems until I installed SeaMonkey 1.1.16 and this is
what I get:

this is a gtk+2.0 issue. Module handling for bi-arch case is a bit
inconsistent. I have some ideas how to fix it. Have to verify.
