@teledyn The problem behind that Critical message has already been fixed
in the upstream code, and it will be available in 0.6.95 release.
About the Error while performing indexing, it could be caused because the
tracker-indexer process crash, it is started again by trackerd, and it finds
index

thank you for your bug report. The index corruption issue is bug 346912.
The error notification not being able to be dismissed is bug 361205. The
problem with indexing starting when you insert removeable
same as the above reports; I thought I had disabled it but it returned
just now when I plugged in an external storage. I never use the tracker
(I already KNOW what's in my home dir) so a workaround to just remove
the program will suffice.
I tried to add my HOME dir under Ignored Paths and there
was able to remove the package using synaptic, so I think I found my
work-around, but thought the following from the tracker log might be
important:
~/.local/share/tracker/trackerd.log
11 May 2009, 23:35:11: Tracker-Critical **: Couldn't set mount point
state, Did not receive a reply. Possible
I'm seeing this with Jaunty, tracker 0.6.93-0ubuntu1.

Hi
I've had the same problem tried unloading reloading Tracker search tool,
but that didn't work for long. It reappeared after it had done its
'initializing'!
Thanks

Under System / Settings / Indexing, I disabled the indexing completly
but I still get the message.
