2009-08-06 Thread Fionn

This bug is still valid because the update hasnt made it into the backports
repository for months, despite the ppa availablility. Why is this so?

[Bug 375746] Re: [jaunty]: wish: consider backporting more recent version of calibre; current version is rather out of date

2009-08-06 Thread fabrice_sp
Hi,

This bug report has 2 'packages' linked to it:
- a 'calibre (Ubuntu)' one for Latest development version of Ubuntu (Karmic
actually)
- a 'Jaunty Jackalope Backports' one for backporting it to Jaunty

I will reinvalidate the Calibre (Ubuntu) one, as karmic as version
0.6.3.

About the backport, it's a matter of finding a sponsor willing to deal
with the package. That's why I'm using my ppa as a unofficial backport
repository.

Be patient :-)

Cheers,
Fabrice

  Binary package hint: calibre

The calibre package for jaunty installs version 0.4.143, but the current
- version at http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/download_linux is 0.5.11, which
+ version at http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/download_linux is 0.6.3, which
has a considerable number of changes from the jaunty version.

- 0.5.11 is in karmic.
+ 0.6.3 is in karmic.

Hi,

I've done un unofficial backport in my ppa (I personally use it), so you can
install it from there (https://launchpad.net/~fabricesp/+archive/ppa).
Anyway, I've added the backport team to the bug report
