I'm using Alpha 3 of Karmic, and this bug is still persistant.
I'm using the generic driver and not the proprietary Nvidia driver.

I've been having this problem, too. Also, I don't know if this is a
related issue or not, but my brightness will go totally haywire
sometimes, and will switch between different brightness levels
constantly, forcing me to restart X. I'm using karmic, updated from
jaunty, 2.6.30-6-generic. i386
