I have the excat same isse as Jan (not the original post). module-rtp-recv works. But after 20-50 seconds the sound gets more and more choppy/laggy. My output looks just like his. Different Ubuntu versions have different protocol versions in PA, so you'll need to reproduce this in a matching configuring (Jaunty - Jaunty, Karmic - Karmic, Lucid - Lucid). I can confirm this, both on ubuntu 9.04 desktop edition, and ubuntu 9.04 server edition. I am trying to set up get my ubuntu home server to be a server for pulse audio so that I can plug stationary speakers into the server and have wireless speakers on my lan. With this ppa https://launchpad.net/~themuso/+archive/ppa pulseaudio loads the modul and receiving streams works. But after a while the sounds starts to stutter. It worked perfectly in Ubuntu Intrepid. When I upgraded my laptop to Jaunty, it was unable to receive RTP streams while my Intrepid desktop could.
