Public bug reported: Some times ago, looking to control fans, i ran sensord-detect to fill /etc/modules with the right name chips detected. Then all the fans slowed down and temperatures was good.
Here is the problem: Having played with pysdm & grub-pc recently, and i failed in numerous rights broken. So, i ran dpkg-reconfigure --all to restore the settings i want. But, since all the fans are at full speed all the time: i need to run again sensord-detect to perform /etc/modules because it was empty !!! So, i suspect " dpkg-reconfigure -all " have erased the custom settings in /etc/modules and don't care about special hardware. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- continous full speed fans on Intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/392851 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
