marlett font for me breaks openoffice so that all the fonts are
unreadable - the called mine invalid - found this tried the one from
wine and same thing happens...

I've just got the same on a current gutsy with the 'mitra mono' font (at 11) on
konsole on a different machine to the one I originally reported it on.
So it's not a machine/driver issue, or my user settings.

Short answer yes; but see the longer answer.
When I got your message I checked and found marlett was no longer on my konsole
font menu. It took me a bit of digging but I found that marlett was a wine
font
in /usr/share/wine/fonts/marlett.ttf (owned by the wine package). I added that
font
