Re: [Bug 406175] Re: [TOSHIBA Satellite A100] hibernate/resume failure [non-free: vmmon nvidia]

2010-03-14 Thread iw3smv
Hi Jeremy,
thanks for your interest for this,
I'm using the computer for work, ( I'm a wireless network installer ) .
Seem this problem is the kernel, in this machine, I have installed first
ubuntu 8.04,
next 8.10 , upgraded to 9.04, and 9.10, but the results are the same.
Now I use linux mint, with the same problem, this is random, but it
appares when I resume after suspend
I have also tested ubuntu 10.4 alpha 3 under virtualbox, seems work
well, but now the mouse pointer is invisible.
Another problem is touchpad freezing... The machine run well ( I can
work on this with a external mouse ) but random the trackpad freeze (
one time for month approx )

Best regards

 Hi iw3smv,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
 available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a
 Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically
gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

 apport-collect -p linux 406175

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would
be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the
issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once
you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-
testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon
next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and
deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your
 results.

 Thanks in advance.
