I'm still on Feisty so I can't tell. But I finally got it working on Feisty. xorg.conf attached. The installed drivers are nvidia-glx-new 1.0.9755+2.6.20.5-16.29 Can someone confirm that this xorg.conf works? it doesn't have any EDIC, ESID hacks at all. ** Attachment added: xorg.conf

Does this still occur on Gutsy? If so, could you attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file and the output from `sudo ddcprobe`? ** Changed in: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22 (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: xorg = linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22 Status: New = Incomplete -- hyundai b71a monitor

Andrew: the nv diver works perfectly on edgy and feisty. Resolutions all the way up to 1280x1024. The problem is with the binary nvidia drivers AND DVI output with the L70A TFT monitor. Using analog VGA output works. Apparently somewhere a year and a half ago nvidia altered their EDIC algorithms

Same problem here. No matter what resolution list I place in my xorg.conf, the resolution maxes out at 1024x768. -- hyundai b71a monitor screen resolution and instability https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/40754 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a

2006-12-12 Thread Andrew Ash
Personally, I've had more problems with the nv driver than nvidia. My second monitor doesn't work well at all with nv, but does perfectly with nvidia. Could you try using vesa instead of nv? If the monitor works fine, then we know that it's a bug in the nv driver. Thanks -- hyundai b71a

Thanks for the bug report. Does this still occur in Dapper or Edgy? What other distros have this problem too, and do they have bug reports on this issue? ** Changed in: Ubuntu Status: Unconfirmed = Needs Info -- hyundai b71a monitor screen resolution and instability
