[Bug 411202] Re: Kernel update breaks driver
We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-psb (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/411202 Title: Kernel update breaks driver -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 411202] Re: Kernel update breaks driver
It isn't an issue anymore in Linux Mint since at least version 9, based on Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope. I'll confirm later where my driver is from, maybe the Mint guys patch it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/411202 Title: Kernel update breaks driver -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 411202] Re: Kernel update breaks driver
This bug report was filed against an old version of Ubuntu. Can you confirm whether this is still an issue in natty? If you don't mind, it would be very helpful if you could update the bug report in launchpad to 'Fix Released' if it is no longer an issue for you, or if it is still occurring under natty, please tag the bug 'natty' so it's easier for us to track. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-psb (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => New ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-psb (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/411202 Title: Kernel update breaks driver -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 411202] Re: Kernel update breaks driver
I initially filed this bug (as #406651.) I've been using the work around remove/install to get my screen resolution back when I take a kernel upgrade. Unfortunately this technique now fails during the install after taking the 2.6.31-16 kernel update. I've attached the output from the install session and the subsequent make.log. ** Attachment added: "psb-install-fail.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/36969394/psb-install-fail.log -- Kernel update breaks driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/411202 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 411202] Re: Kernel update breaks driver
** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-psb I and several other people have been having problems with the xserver-xorg-video-psb driver when upgrading kernels. Doing... apt-get remove psb-kernel-source apt-get install psb-kernel-source ...after installing the new kernel, running from it either on low resolution or on text console, solves the problem. Could you manage to make that run automatically on each kernel update? [Bug 411202] Re: Kernel update breaks driver
Hi fchurca, Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well. [This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: needs-xorglog ** Tags added: needs-lspci-vvnn ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-psb (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Kernel update breaks driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/411202 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
