Would be great to see in 10.04. since the config file has changed and is
no longer compatible would be nice to have some sort of
porting/converter to at least copy over the server/channel config
settings.

Now that WeeChat 0.3.0 is final and in Sid, IMO it would be a huge
improvement to have over Weechat 0.2.6, especially since the upstream
community has largely switched their plugin development effort towards
the improved new release.
We should consider treating this as a feature freeze exception.
I was doing this at David Rubin's request Nathan (I presume he already
uses Weechat 0.3 and is exhilarated by it).
I can get back to you once I've updated him of the above.
