Does this happen when using gnome-terminal, by the way?
FYI, I found a bug in Gnome's bugzilla that refers to Maximized scroll
bar against screen edge:

Looks like other possible sources of this kind of issue might be the
Application, Gtk,
New in Lucid Lynx 10.04.
Bug still present with new theme. But now this also happens with the window
buttons.

@Kenneth: the tone only reflects reality... and the comment WAS
constructive. I've tested whether anything had been done in regards to
this bug in Lucid. I found out that the situation had become worse. That
is what I reported. If only everyone focused on the bugs instead of this
code of conduct
@unimatrix: saying that an entire team of people only ever makes things
worse is simply not acceptable and does not help any person in any way
or further the discussion. The code of conduct is not mumbo jumbo - it
is a necessary part of working together on Ubuntu.

@unimatrix: I can still reproduce this in the Human theme, but it isn't
happening for me in Ambiance or Radiance. It is probably a window manager thing
on your end; Compiz does strange things with mouse events on the edge of the
screen, especially when you turn on the hot corners stuff.

Are you kidding me? What bug is that? Could you please link me? I can't
believe this is happening. They are intentionally crippling Ubuntu.
As for Compiz, I know it does this, especially with the Rotate Cube
plugin, but I've disabled that. And yes, some themes have been fixed,
but the best ones
