I have a similar issue with evince in Lucid Server, basic X.org
installation (no gnome desktop)
$ evince

I see the same issue with totem in my lucid and with GNOME dm

Bugs, which
no :) (i use xfce4, from xubuntu jaunty upgraded to karmic with update-manager)
but i have selected in xfce4 stufff the 'launch gnome services at startup. I
guess it is supposed to do the right things.
when i launch the daemon (as user) i have the following messages :
ok, it's an issue when using evince without GNOME, something upstream
should probably handle better
