Yes, 9.04 was more stabile for me than 9.10, who crashed often. It was upgraded to 9.10 from 9.04 online (via Update Manager). I thought many times to go back to 9.04, but I made an experiment: I formated the disk with EXT4 and made a clean install of 9.10. Now it works terrific. No crashed for
