Yes, it worked for me on Ubuntu 9.10 (not on jolicloud though).

I can't confirm beaconer's solution as working.
The module compiles/loads fine - but the network connection is still only
visible after a warm boot.
(might be a mistake on my end since my Linux skills are still rudimentary)

on a Sony Vaio P11Z
