The explanation is in the changelog, the prompt was triggered on microsoft autorun which are 90% of the autorun you find on CD but the run actually doesn't work on linux so it was confusing users only, the workaround should be dropped now though since shared-mime-info does the difference between

After a lot of searching I found that the autorun prompt is intentionally hidden. After removing the line Hidden=true in file /usr/share/applications /nautilus-autorun-software.desktop the autorun prompt reappeared. I would like to request that this is made the default. Why was it hidden anyway?
