I see the same thing using the Xv output module and fglrx, this problem of non-centering when crop is enabled, using Ubuntu 10.04 and VLC media player 1.0.6 Goldeneye. A work-around is to set the video output module in VLC to use OpenGL -- then the centering on crop is fine. -- vlc 1.0.2 crop is not centered. I cannot reproduce the problem with 1.0.5 and 1.1.0. I assume this is fixed.
