Binary package hint: gnome-panel


System: karmic 9.10

I want to remove multi-colored icons from gnome-panel menu bar. 
Before 9.10 they could be removed by going to  appearance -> interface ->show 
icons in menus
and icons from buttons by "gconf -> Desktop -> Interface -> Buttons have icons"

In Ubuntu 9.10 this doesn't work. Though buttons don't have icons by default 
but "half" the menu has it like "Application" & "Places" part even when I 
uncheck show icons in menus.

live cd, new user all have this problem.
