Yes, there is a stacktrace, but I cannot copy it. As I'm not familiar with
these entries, typing over is not an option (too much probability on
faults). Shall I post a new bug report and link to it?

Yes, posting a new bug for that would be perfectly acceptable. I'll just
mark this as a duplicate of the new one when it shows up. Thanks.

Could you install kdesdk-dbg and get a backtrace from the KDE crash
handler?

I installed kdesdk-dbg and crashed the application, but the KDE Crash
Handler did not show up (I actually never saw the program).
So, I tried to produce a backtrace with gdb, but after the program freezes
(without gdb, it returns to command line), I cannot get back to gdb: ctrl-c
does nothing, gdb
After I enabled apport, it comes up after a crash from umbrello and I get
summit that. However, that will create a new bug report (instead of
attaching it to this one). How can I attach apports report to this bug
report?

Hmm, I think you can get the stacktrace from the details option w/
apport. There should be a stacktrace item in the tree that shows up. You
could copy/paste that here.
