slumbergod, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
Sorry, Christopher. The bug report is very old and I am not using that release
any more. You can disregard the report now.
Thanks.

Can't reconnect to wireless network after upgrade to 1.25 unless I reboot

You received this bug
This doesn't look like a firmware issue to me, especially since the
firmware versions mentioned do not affect the wireless drivers. Thus,
I'm moving this bug to the kernel.

Can't reconnect to wireless network after upgrade to 1.25
I can confirm this bug. I tried kernel 2.6.21-14, -15 and -16, and
linux-firmware 1.26. My difference is that manual loading of modules
don't solve the problem, I had to connect using Ethernet. My machine is
a Dell M6400, with an Intel Corporation Wireless WiFi Link 5100

Can't reconnect to
Actually, manual reloading of the modules as outlined above isn't even a
guaranteed workaround. More extensive testing suggests that a reboot is
the only guaranteed way of re-establishing wireless connectivity.

Can't reconnect to wireless network after upgrade to 1.25 unless I reboot
This seems quite odd. The only change from 1.24 to 1.25 was this:
* Rename BCM2033 firmware files with lower case extension
-LP: #156133
