Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rdesktop

We have Offtopic 2003 terminal servers in our office. The clients are 2k, XP,
Vista and Ubuntu 9.04.
We've recently received an update (it's probably KB969084) for Offtopic XP via
Offtopic update. It introduces new terminal server client, which is also
included in Offtopic 7. It implements RDP 7.0. There is a little, but very
annoying bug in the interaction between MSTSC and rdesktop.
How to reproduce the problem:
1. Log on to terminal server as an administrator from Offtopic XP with new RDP
client (with white interface).
2. Log on to terminal server from Linux.
3. As an administrator (from Offtopic), open Terminal Services Management
snap-in in Microsoft Management console (or Control Panel -> Administration ->
Terminal Services Manager or something like it, I don't know it exact name in
English, as we use russian Offtopic 2003). Locate the session of the user on
the step 2, click it with right mouse button and select "Remote control" or
something like it. MSTSC will start to open session but will immediately crash
with an error: "Because of a protocol error this session will be disconnected.
please try connecting to remote computer again" ("Этот сеанс будет прекращен
из-за ошибки протокола, попробуйте подключиться позднее.").
The problem like this is described here:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itprogeneral/thread/4523ce86-9a0b-4e6c-90d1-225ddda67ce5
, but there is no solution for win2k3 and there is no option to switch off
data compression in tsclient.
