I've posted a patch in bug

issue, still don't know which of both bugs should be marked as dup, but
for the meantime i'm crossposting
Will welcome feedback on patch testing.

I personally don't think this is a bug, since gnome compatibility is on
-- but the resize window plugin should probably say something like this
will not work because we are using gnome settings here.
I will also note that setting
/apps/metacity/general/resize_with_right_button does not work to
It -is- a bug, specifically having to do with the gnome compatibility
setting in Compiz. Perhaps I did not state it clearly enough in the bug
report:
Metacity's resize_with_right_button works fine ONLY if Compiz is off or
Compiz' Gnome Compatibility setting is disabled.
