I have the same problem. I started from a .doc and saved my changes as
.odt. I had to send a .doc copy to someone, but it crashes while saving
every time. It only happens for documents which have form fields though.

This is reported upstream as Issue 107608. They states that this is an
issue for the Ubuntu/Kubuntu build only and that the upstream version do
not have this issue.
