X fails to start if the mouse is moved during startup, see the
xserverold log, The movement needs to be continuous through the
initialization, When trying to reproduce, I can see gdm restating
continuously until I stop moving the mouse (turn it upside down) or it
reaches max failures. Note that the mouse is brand new (Yesterday) and
causes no errors on karmic machines
