No. Unless that's changed recently, your customized entries under /usr/share/calendar get overwritten when the package is upgraded anyway. Perhaps a configuration question when the package is installed - something like I see your locale is US English. Do you want to display calendar entries for only this locale? and defaulting to Yes.
