Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with cups and
printing. You made this bug report some time ago and Ubuntu has been updated
since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that
I have the same issue on Lucid using the same printer as OP. The only
difference between Karmic and Lucid, is that after refresh on Lucid
there is no error, but a message about submitting a maintenance job
number x. Executing hp-levels in terminal gives me the correct
levels, so it would seem
