Nothing has changed. There is no plan to migrate gnupg 1 and 2 to the
alternatives system. Especially scripts might break when pointing
/usr/bin/gpg to gnupg2. Gnupg 1 and 2 do not behave identically (the
second for example requires a running agent).

Based on Daniel's feedback and the fact that we don't want to diverge
from Debian on this very important piece of security software, marking
as Won't Fix. Thanks for the patch and I hope you won't hesitate to
contribute in the future.
