Under lucid, Software Center doesn't even report an error, just sits
there waiting for /usr/bin/perl -w /usr/share/debconf/frontend
/var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci/preinst install to complete. I had to kill it
manually after waiting two hours.

Correction (re #7). It apparently is working correctly now. Another
application had popped up a window that completely hid the Do you
accept license? pane.

This should be fixed by the better debconf proxying which is now shipped
in Lucid.
