[Bug 534229] Re: Xorg crashes randomly (pae kernel)
There was an update for intel xserver roughly a week ago and I have not experienced this problem after that. -- Xorg crashes randomly (pae kernel) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/534229 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 534229] Re: Xorg crashes randomly (pae kernel)
This was actually a plymouth bug which should have been fixed in this instance by plymouth (0.8.0~-13) https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/lucid/+source/plymouth/0.8.0~-13 If you experience this issue again please reopen this bug. ** Description changed: Binary package hint: xorg X has crashed randomly with rough frequency of once per day since updating to Lucid. With Karmic it worked fine. Last time upgraded to latest Lucid on Friday. I have noticed the crash at least when using Evolution and Firefox. + + Backtrace: + 0: /usr/bin/X (xorg_backtrace+0x3b) [0x80e880b] + 1: /usr/bin/X (0x8048000+0x61aed) [0x80a9aed] + 2: /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7749000+0xe370) [0xb7757370] + 3: /usr/bin/X (0x8048000+0x2a190) [0x8072190] + 4: /usr/bin/X (0x8048000+0x1ed3a) [0x8066d3a] + 5: /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6 (__libc_start_main+0xe6) [0xb74cbbd6] + 6: /usr/bin/X (0x8048000+0x1e921) [0x8066921] + + Caught signal 3 (Quit). [Bug 534229] Re: Xorg crashes randomly
This happened today once more, now only 2 mins after logging in and using Firefox. Strange thing this time was that Xorg.0.log.old did not contain any backtrace. Just upgraded new packages this morning. ** Attachment added: Xorg.0.log.old http://launchpadlibrarian.net/40561734/Xorg.0.log.old -- Xorg crashes randomly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/534229 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 534229] Re: Xorg crashes randomly (pae kernel)
For crash reports we need to have a full backtrace collected. This is often done automatically by apport, but I don't know why it's not catching it in your case. Guidance for collecting full backtraces manually can be found at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing. (P.S., it's a good idea to avoid using the word 'randomly' in bug titles.) ** Summary changed: - Xorg crashes randomly + Xorg crashes randomly (pae kernel) ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- Xorg crashes randomly (pae kernel) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/534229 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
