Well, I'm a beginner in the Ubuntu. I love this OS, but got the same
problem with the driver. I can't change the screen refresh rate for
75Hz, it's only on 60Hz. Can some patient Ubuntu-mate help me, that how
can I solve the problem steb-by-step? That can help for many I guess.
Big thanks in
Where do you get fixes like this? Apt-get, or a seperate download?

For me the second monitor is working good.
You have to configure it by hand. (xorg.conf) but then it works good.

Any chance to have this problem solved in Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot)?
Using the other driver, opening too many windows causes new windows to render
blank white
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/747717)
Changing to 173, the second monitor doesn't work.

nvidia-settings X display configuration window doesn't
I have the same problem in Ubuntu Oneiric. I have a quite old but strong
graphic card GT8800 which playied good in earlier versions(after some
tweaking). Now my second monitor is not detected at all.
This is what I get in Nvidia-Settings - X Server DIsplay Configuration :
Unable to load X
Hey Guys,
I'm having this exact issue and haven't been able to figure out what's
wrong:

Ok so I have figured out something interesting that takes a little
explaining, I have a duel-monitor setup and when I first got my video
card working the setup was like this
Monitor 1 (Left monitor) had the 2nd desktop on it and was at
1024x768.
Monitor 2 (Right monitor) had the Primary desktop
PPS:
I have the monitor
http://www.unicomplabs.com/Lcd/sampo_pd-70fa2.asp
except it's black and use to be a touch screen
(the glass inside broke and so I got 2 of them for free! I removed the glass
and they have been great 15 flatscreens for a long time!)

nvidia-settings X display
I replaced the cable connecting Monitor 2 to the computer and now Both
are working at 1024x768 however, I still get the same error in NVIDIA X
Server Settings - X Server Display Configuration: Failed to query
NoScanout for screen 0. :P but it's progress!

Agreed. How does one acquire the latest? It's very confusing where
things come from.
