It also popped up a box saying:
The panel encountered a problem while loading OAFIID:GNOME_IndicatorApplet.
Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration.
Again, I chose to NOT delete the applet.

Another note, apport fired off saying that Indicator-Applet had crashed
with an assertion error, but Apport does not support reporting assertion
errors...
