That's been fixed. Also, the problem with the symbol changes. If you are
compiling your own drivers, chances are you will have to recompile it
periodically as new versions of the kernel come out.

I just got the new 2.6.15-27 kernel. It works fine, so thanks. I was not
compiling my own audio modules, BTW. Thanks for the quick response.

I upgraded from kernel 2.6.15-26.46 to 2.6.15-26.47 (both were dapper).
Sound was working fine, now it is broken. I also use the snd_via82xx
driver.
dmesg (after modprobe snd_via82xx):
[17179790.944000] snd_pcm: disagrees about version of symbol boot_cpu_data
[17179790.944000] snd_pcm: Unknown
Notice that your sound hardware has been allocated no resources (as
evidenced by your /proc/interrupts contents). This means that the sound
driver, snd_via82xx, cannot function properly and thus you have no
sound.
Did you try my recommendation from #ubuntu/Freenode to disable all
unused devices
