Does installing the following packages help resolve the problem: gstreamer0.10-plugins-base, gstreamer0.10-plugins-good, gstreamer0.10 -plugins-ugly, gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad, gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg If so then we probably need integration with KDE's media subsystem or else have to install gstreamer to provide media support for OOo under KDE.
