Hi there!
Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the
KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate
your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at
https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this
speedily and have direct
however 4.4.4 from https://edge.launchpad.net/~kubuntu-
ppa/+archive/ppa/ still shows the same problem :-(

I can confirm this problem.
The page linked in the first post suggests this is fixed in KDE 4.4.3.

Sorry, can't reproduce your problem. Here, my groups(imported from tb, Im new
converted from) is fully available after adding akonadi-ressource in Kde
ressources.
Can you recreate new group with some address and see if same problem occur?
If yes, is akonadi-ressource in place in Kde
Found temporary solution:
From Kmail select an address
Choose your group and click plus sign
You will see entire list
Click on first email and go to the last
Hold shift key and click the last email. Your will select all
Drag and drop the selected list in kmail mail field
Et Voila

Slight problem there: The list has the right number of people, but with
that plus sign view, it's also entirely blank addresses. I can't add
them (or adding them has no effect), and don't seem to be able to drag
them anywhere.
