I'm on Ubuntu 10.04.4, and kernel 2.6.32-40-generic-pae. I use an external USB DVD writer for nightly incremental backups, and when that overflows I use an external USB drive to do a full backup onto. That happens about every month or two. This time, for the first time ever, I could not mount

I have the same issue sometimes, i think that it has something to do with some corruption with the USB broadband modem, because i can't navigate and USB thumb wont mount... only if i wait like 5 minutes it will mount it at low speed, usb 1.1 i've been through this even with my previous laptop
