Can you be more specific? I've downloaded the newest package and nothing
works. When i try to issue compiz-start from command line i get a
veery slow desktop, practically non-useable

you run compiz? With what option do you run it? Do you have the compiz-

I dont' run it from cl. I've just right clicked Compiz tray icon (enable
dl desktop) and it doesnt work anymore. I have compiz - plugins
installed. I'm using a 7500 ATI radeon with aiglx.

I was having this problem as well. With the newest packages everything
seems to be ok now. One important thing though is that compiz no longer
uses Gconf for its settings and a new program called csm (compiz
settings manager) is now used. Also a new start-up script is included
