Public bug reported: Installing the nvidia driver was non-trivial: Just running "Administration"->"Hardware drivers" and activating the current nvidia driver and rebooting did not change anything.
What I had to do afterwards: - build the module with sudo dkms build -m nvidia-current -v 195.36.24 - install the module with sudo dkms install -m nvidia-current -v 195.36.24 - make a new xorg.conf with nvidia-xsettings, otherwise nouveau will still be used - reboot (actually: restart X) What I'd expect: - the driver is installed and activated automatically by jockey. (Just as a remark: I need the nvidia driver because nouveau does not play audio over HDMI) I'm running maverick, updated from lucid.
