Removing the kde-config-tablet package, as suggested at: the
kubuntuforums.net.
http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.php?topic=3115069.0 solved the
crashing for me.
But I would like to configure my wacom tablet and hopes for a bug fix
eventually.

I have the same behaviour and don't have a wacom tablet. I can't post
from the machine with the problem because my only internet access is
wireless and I need kded to access that, so I can't add any information.
How does one disable the wacom tablet service?

I can also confirm that I don't have kde-config-tablet installed. I'm
certain this is the same bug though.
