This problem started happening on my Dell XPS M1330 after upgrading to 10.10. The fix is to build and install the latest version of uvcvideo as described here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=844580 -- uvcvideo failed to query Microdia Sonix webcam (0c45:62c0)

Hi bp0, Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/current/ . If the issue remains, please run the following command from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will
