Public bug reported: Binary package hint: exaile
When you have a playlist with many songs (your whole library, perhaps), the context menu doesn't have 'clear all' (or whatever), since anywhere you click in the playlist area is a context menu for /that song/ instead of for the playlist. That's bad, a per-song context menu should have that option too - there isn't any 'background' to click on when the area is full of songs. So, you CTRL+A and select 'remove' from the context menu. The application appears to freeze for over a minute while the operation is processed. I don't know if a 'clear all' operation would be more efficient or not. If so, check whether all songs are selected and use the more efficient operation if so. In any event, the efficiency of large remove operations should be improved (if you select all but one, it should still be fast).
