So i have to open it with kde3
Confirming due to response, upstream report, and duplicate bug. Is this
still an issue with either gutsy or hardy? KDE4? Any extra info? Thanks!

The very same problem occurs with cyrillic letters; in russian ark is simply
unusable.
why doesn't ark use utf-8?
